Focuses on helping clients recover from a covered
Illness by providing immediate access to medical advice and care and up to 1 million dollars in out-of-
country funding at an affordable price.

 

Provides a cheque to replace lost income or pay expenses in the event the client suffers from a covered illness.

10 illnesses that individuals worry about the most, chosen based on the probability of successful treatment, if given proper care:

  • Cancer (life-threatening)
  • Coronary artery by-pass surgery
  • Aortic surgery
  • Heart valve replacement
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Kidney failure
  • Major organ transplant
  • Motor neuron disease (ALS/Lou Gehrig’s)
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Benign brain tumour
  • From 3 to 23 illnesses depending on the type of plan and company
  • Focus is generally on the number of illnesses covered rather than the likelihood of successful treatment

Financial Benefits Option 1

90-Day Claim Exclusion Period Premiums refunded if claim is made within the first 90 days after the coverage effective date Premiums are usually refunded if a cancer claim is made within the 90 day exclusion period
 

Plan Design

  • Single Life - one adult
  • Spousal - Two adults
  • Family - one or two adults and an unlimited number of children

Each insured individual receives $1 million of coverage and full access to all of the other benefits of the program.

  • The candidate is faced with a myriad of options: basic versus enhanced definitions, various payment schedules and a range of amounts
